Inspirations
Inspiration 01:
Fall/Winter 09 for Nom de Guerre - photos were originally inspired by Pierre Huyghe’s work, A Journey That Wasn’t - which included an exhibit at the Whitney Museum in 2006, in addition to other off-site locations. The piece utilized the idea of a voyage to Antartica in the exploration of the boundaries between fiction and reality.
Similarly, the collection and advertising in general, is a simulation and blending of ideals to create “a journey that wasn’t”
Quotes were taken from Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s film, The Third Generation, which can be seen as an exploration of ideals and the differences between fiction and reality.
Additional inspiration for the photo images was taken from Alexander Sokurov’s 1998 film, Pavinost or Confession.
